Basic Public Affairs Course (BPAC) 11 -22 May 2026

BPAC is a two-week, NATO selected course consisted of interactive lectures, syndicate work and practical exercises with camera exposure followed by an individual feedback by PARC’s certified media trainers and group discussions. The emphasis of the course is placed on enhancing basic Public Affairs (PA) knowledge and practical skills to enable participants to effectively communicate with the media. Upon completion of the course, participants are expected to be familiarized with the basic NATO PA principles and to improve their basic media and communication skills in order to perform their everyday duties, as well as to develop skills and gain practical experience to effectively communicate with media.

Aim: To provide the participants with essential knowledge of basic communication skills and techniques, and expose them to the different formats of public appearance. The participants are expected to be familiarized with the basic NATO PA principles and to improve their basic media and communication skills in order to perform their everyday duties, as well as to develop skills and gain practical experience to effectively communicate with media. Furthermore, they learn and practice to utilize the PA tools when dealing with the media, such as writing effective news releases and giving Radio/TV Statements, Radio/TV Interviews and organizing and holding News Conferences. The course especially focused on practical implementation of basic Public Affairs skills and enables participants to acquire basic media and communication skills in order to perform their everyday duties.

Target Audience: The main audience consists of individuals (both military and civilian) who need basic Public Affairs knowledge to enable them to be familiarized with the basic NATO PA principles and to improve their basic media and communication skills in order to perform their everyday duties.

Rank Level: Military and civilian personnel within Ministries of Defence, Armed Forces or other relevant national institutions. No rank limitation for the military personnel.
