From 14 to 18 September 2026, the Public Affairs Regional Centre (PARC), operating within the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of North Macedonia, delivered a Crisis Communication Course in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with NATO under the NATO Defence Capacity Building (DCB) Programme, tailored to the needs of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s security structures.
The course was designed to enhance the knowledge and practical skills of representatives from the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina and relevant agencies in effectively managing communication during crisis situations.
The training programme covered key topics related to crisis communication, the organisation and management of Public Affairs during a crisis, and the role of social media in today’s rapidly changing information environment.
Particular emphasis was placed on the practical application of the knowledge and skills acquired. During a two-day practical exercise, participants established and operated a Media Information Centre, responding to a complex and evolving crisis scenario. The exercise enabled participants to strengthen their coordination, information-sharing, and ability to deliver timely, consistent, and effective public communication in a crisis environment.
Through this activity, PARC continues to contribute to strengthening Public Affairs and crisis communication capabilities, fostering regional cooperation, and supporting partner nations through NATO’s Defence Capacity Building initiatives.
