In the period from 01-12 February 2026, the Public Affairs Regional Centre (PARC) Mobile Training Team (MTT), composed of four certified media trainers, successfully delivered two consecutive Basic Public Affairs Courses in Kuwait, hosted by the NATO ICI Regional Centre.
Designed to address the evolving communication requirements of partners across the Middle East, the training brought together a total of 45 participants from six nations: Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The strong regional representation fostered professional exchange, encouraged the sharing of best practices, and strengthened cooperation among participating institutions. All participants successfully completed the programme.
The curriculum combined strategic-level instruction with intensive practical application, covering core public affairs principles, strategic communication, message development, media engagement techniques, on-camera interviews, news release drafting, news conference management, dealing with dis-information and media literacy. Particular emphasis was placed on aligning communication efforts with institutional objectives and maintaining credibility in complex and dynamic information environments.
Practical learning was a central component of both courses. Participants engaged in structured, scenario-based media simulations - including live on-camera interviews and simulated press conferences - enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge in realistic, time-sensitive settings and enhance their professional confidence and performance.
The successful delivery of these two consecutive courses, in cooperation with the NATO ICI Regional Centre, demonstrates the Centre’s continued commitment to strengthening professional public affairs capabilities and supporting resilient communication capacities across the region.
