From April 6th to 10th, the Public Affairs Regional Centre (PARC) Mobile Training Team, composed of four certified media trainers, successfully delivered a Basic Public Affairs Course in Kuwait.
This engagement was conducted at the request of the NATO ICI Regional Centre, and organized under the coordination of NATO SHAPE, as part of NATO’s continued efforts to enhance regional capabilities in public affairs and strategic communication.
The course was specifically tailored for countries in the Middle East region and brought together 21 participants from six nations: Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The program was designed to equip participants with essential public affairs knowledge and practical skills, and all participants successfully completed the training.
The curriculum covered a range of topics including the fundamentals of public affairs, effective communication, the importance of key messaging, delivering on-camera statements and interviews, writing press releases, organizing press conferences, as well as media monitoring and media literacy.
In addition to the lectures, participants engaged in realistic, scenario-based practical exercises in front of the camera, enabling them to apply their knowledge in simulated media environments.
This marks the second successful delivery of a public affairs course by the PARC Mobile Training Team in Kuwait, reinforcing the Centre’s role as a reliable partner in building public affairs capacity and supporting NATO’s partnership objectives in the region.
