In the period from 9 – 11 March 2013, the course for “Media Training for Crisis Communications” was conducted in the Regional Training Communication Centre. Saso Stefanoski, State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, pointed out during the opening ceremony of the course that Republic of Macedonia as part of the global security concepts, is dedicated to the implementation of crisis management in terms of prevention policies and risks reduction.
The State Secretary Stefanoski also emphasized that the elements of crisis management are de facto high in the agendas of the international institutions and entities such as UN, the European Union and of course, the NATO Alliance, especially in circumstances of this complex global architecture.The course “Media Training for Crisis Situations” incorporates the basic communications with the public, effective transfer of the messages to the audience, as well as the characteristics of information transfer in crisis situations.
The participants of this regional course were the representatives of the Armed forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic Croatia, Kosovo Security Forces, as well as representatives of the Armed forces of the Republic of Macedonia, the Ministry of Interior and the Crisis Management Centre. The course was conducted by certified media trainers and experienced professionals in the field of Public Affairs and Crisis Management.
