The Basic Public Affairs Course I – International Course

Basic Public Affairs Course I – International Course fostering multinational cooperation and development of shared capabilities within the area of Public Affairs was conducted in the period from 14 till 25 March 2016 in Skopje by the Public Affairs Regional Center supported by the British Embassy in Skopje.

19 participants from the Republic of Albania, Republic of Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Moldova, Republic of Serbia, Ukraine, the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Macedonia as well as from the Macedonian governmental institutions had the opportunity to be familiarized with the NATO Public Affairs Policy, to learn the basic communication skills for effective communication and above all to get practical experience in dealing with the media.

Basic Public Affairs Course I – International Course was also marked by the first extension from one to two weeks in length, thus further expanding the practical training to personnel from NATO partner countries working on practical experience in dealing with the media through simulations of realistic scenarios.

Building trust and promoting the principles of NATO Public Affairs Policy and Doctrine within this multinational audience was of immense importance for better understanding of the necessity to communicate truthfully, timely and accurately with the public and to obtain and maintain credibility in the scope of the respective countries.
