From 02 to 13 March 2020, the Public Affairs Regional Centre (PARC) conducted a “Basic Public Affairs Course” which gathered participants from 7 NATO and partner countries. This two weeks course was a great opportunity for all 14 participants to learn, share experience and practice their Public Affairs skills.
The Course Agenda was designed to offer basic PA theoretical and practical knowledge including creating and delivering effective key messages, answering difficult questions during an interview (radio and TV), writing news release, media monitoring, but also to raise the awareness about the role and the impact of the Social media in the New Media landscape, and importance of branding the organizations where they come from.
Moreover, during the course, together with their Media trainers participants had the opportunity to pay a visit to the National TV broadcaster “TV Telma” in Skopje aimed to increase the awareness of the importance of developing and strengthening the cooperation with the media as well as to better understand the journalist’s perspective in dealing with PA officers.
The final comprehensive practical exercise “running a Media Information Centre” based on a realistic scenario despite of being a great challenge for the trainees, resulted with high quality performances of the trainees and once again confirmed the success and the overall quality of the two weeks education and training.
Upon completion of the course all participants were awarded with a Certificate for attendance.
