The Partnership Training and Education Centres’ network is comprised of 26 centres positioned in 23 NATO and partner countries. As of June 2013, the Public Affairs Regional Centre of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Macedonia is part of this network, and it is the only Partnership Training and Education Centre, which specializes exclusively in the field of public affairs. Since 1999, the Partnership Training and Education Centres have been playing a key role in the process of supporting NATO partnership goals. In 2013 alone, 12.500 participants had been trained in these centres from NATO and partner countries.

A great number of these centres, including the Public Affairs Regional Centre, on 19th and 20th March in the NATO headquarters in Brussels, had the opportunity to present their activities for this year in front of the national missions of NATO and partner countries, as well as numerous foreign delegations and visitors. The delegation from the Ministry of Defence was presented by Mr. Blerim Ukali, Head of the Department for Communication, Analytics and Operational Support, LTC Saso Gelevski, Head of the Public Affairs Regional Centre Section and Ms Elena Trajanovska, certified Media Trainer in the Public Affairs Regional Centre.

During the opening ceremony, Brigadier General Ivan Caruso pointed out that the Partnership centres “are going to play a key role in sustaining the joint level of education and training at the highest possible level.”

Focusing on the future role of the Partnership centres’ community, the Commandant of the NATO School from Oberammergau, Captain (Navy) Scott Buttler emphasized that “moving forward in the post-operational context, the Partnership Training and Education Centres are going to remain a driving force in the development of NATO and partner interoperability.”

During the presentation of its activities in the headquarters of NATO, the Public Affairs Regional Centre stirred up an immense interest among the representatives from NATO and partner countries. Furthermore, H.E. Martin Trenevski, Ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia to NATO and Brigadier General Branko Drakalski paid a visit to the promotional stand of the Public Affairs Regional Centre.

The representatives of the Public Affairs Regional Centre also took part in a number of meetings of different committees for cooperation of the centres with NATO, which had accompanied the promotional event. Moreover, strengthening of the cooperation with the rest of the centres was agreed upon, especially in the field of exchanging experts and participants.
