Credibility Is Essential To Public Affairs Profession – Key Message At The Basic Public Affairs Course In Parc

The International Basic Public Affairs Course was conducted in the period from 23 to 27 March 2015 in the Public Affairs Regional Centre in Skopje.

The participants from the Republic of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Serbia, Ukraine, the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Macedonia as well as from the Macedonian governmental institutions had the opportunity to be familiarized with the NATO Public Affairs Policy, to learn the basic communication skills for effective communication and above all to get practical experience in dealing with the Media.

The focus of the theoretical part and the productive discussions during the course was on the importance of building and maintaining credibility in the profession of Public Affairs as the most significant element of the communication of institutions with the public, through the media.

Distinguished guest lecturers on the course were Simone de Manso, Press Officer in the Public Diplomacy Division of the NATO HQ in Brussels, Francesco Veltri, Former NATO PAO, Katrine Adair and her team from the media consultant company “Medialoven”.

During the final day of the Basic Public Affairs Course, members of the Association of Defence Attaches (the defence attachés from the French Republic, the Republic of Greece, the Republic of Serbia, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and the United States) paid a visit to the Public Affairs Regional Centre and were briefed on the development of PARC.

They also had the opportunity to personally observe the final practical exercise of the international course.
