Facing the still ongoing challenges the COVID-19 pandemic has posed to the Education and Training Facilities, PARC continues to adapt its residential courses for online training in 2021.
With this regard, the PARCs Online Basic Public Affairs Course was held from 12-16 April 2021 as a virtual equivalent of the Annual residential BPAC course. The high interest from the Public Affairs Officers and their civilian equivalents from 15 NATO and Partner countries confirm the emerging need for Public Affairs training and filling the shortage of well-trained and skilled PAOs among NATO and partner countries. During the course the participants had the opportunity to be familiarized with the basic NATO PA principles, and to improve their basic media and communication skills in order to perform their everyday duties.
Moreover, the practical exercises helped them to develop the necessary skills and gain practical experience to effectively communicate with the media. Furthermore, they had the chance to practice utilizing the PA tools when dealing with the media, such as writing effective news releases and giving TV Statements, TV Interviews.
Experienced international subject matter experts added additional value to the course content through delivering lectures on the structure of NATO PA and dealing with Social Media platforms.
Upon completion of the course participants were awarded with Certificate for attendance.
