The primary objective of the "Crisis Communication Course" (NATO certified), conducted by the Public Affairs Regional Centre (PARC) from March 11th to 15th, 2024 was to equip participants with essential skills for effectively engaging with the media during crisis situations.
Throughout the course, attendees representing 7 NATO and partner countries delved deeply into understanding how NATO coordinates and executes crisis communication within the framework of crisis management. They also gained insights into the fundamental principles guiding NATO's media operations during crises.
Moreover, the curriculum offered participants comprehensive knowledge and expertise concerning the pivotal role of Social Media in crisis management. It emphasized utilizing social media platforms to disseminate timely and fact-based information to target audiences. Additionally, strategies for debunking disinformation and countering fake news during crises were thoroughly addressed.
Furthermore, certified media trainers from PARC facilitated practical exercises centered on realistic crisis scenarios. These exercises were designed to enhance participants' practical skills in delivering TV interviews and statements.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants received certificates recognizing their achievement and competence in crisis communication.
